The CD is a showcase of Edward Cohen's eclecticism and versatility, with recordings of solo piano works ranging from J.S. Bach to Einojuhani Rautavaara, via Charles-Valentin Alkan and Federico Mompou. Additionally, two live chamber music recordings are included: Christopher Caliendo's virtuosic Flute Sonata No. 3, which was written and dedicated to Edward's duo partner, the world-renowned American flautist Amy Porter, and Gustav Mahler's late song cycle 'Rückert Lieder', performed here with American soprano Rainelle Bumbaugh. The final track, 'Struggle' for piano and electronics, by Jim Perkins, is performed in collaboration with the composer.
